About Kuychi Runa

Kuychi Runa is the expression of two life stories, two classmates and “best friends” who followed their life dreams, humanitarian goals and artistic creation both of which one day united as one only dream.

The Kuychi Runa non-profit association was founded to work in the area of Ocongate, Cusco (4000 metres above sea level) by supporting women and children in their creative and development endeavours. The Tinki and Ccoñamuru towns have been able to preserve cultural inheritance because they were out of reach of “modern civilization” but with the recent building of the Interoceanic Road (Peru-Brasil) they are exposed to changes which may affect their traditions and culture in a negative way. Kuychi Runa´s purpose is to support preservation of cultural inheritance while contributing to sustainable development by carrying out nutrition, health, education, programs and creative activities to provide women and children with more opportunities.

Mission: To support the sustainable development of the Andean highland population of Cconamuru through education, health, nutritional and artistic programs while promoting the conservation of their ancient cultural heritage.

Philosophy: Many look for happiness in the wrong places. Others have the disposition to find it in the simplicity of daily life.

If we are able to harmonize worldly needs with spiritual wholeness, then we can reach ultimate creativity allowing ourselves  the pleasure of becoming human.
