A community where nature inspires the human mind to preserve the ancient culture of the Andes from generation to generation.
The Kuychi Runa Association supports the sustainable development of the Andean highland population of Cconamuru through education, health, and nutritional and artistic programs while promoting the conservation of their ancient cultural heritage.
Kuychi Runa is the expression of two life stories, two classmates and best friends, who followed their life passions, humanitarian goals and artistic paths to one day united as one dream.
The Kuychi Runa Association, a nonprofit organization, was founded to work in Ocongate, Cusco, which is located 4,000 meters above sea level, to support indigenous men, women and children in preserving their creative and cultural endeavors. Although the Tinki and Ccoñamuru towns have been able to preserve their rich cultural heritage, mainly because they were out of reach from modern civilization, the recent building of the Interoceanic Road (Peru-Brasil) have left them exposed to changes that may affect their lifestyle in a negative way. Kuychi Runa’s purpose is to support the preservation of this cultural inheritance while contributing to sustainable development by carrying out nutrition, health, education and creativity programs to provide men, women and children with more opportunities.
MISSION: To support the sustainable development of the Andean highland population of Cconamuru through education, health, nutritional and artistic programs while promoting the conservation of their ancient cultural heritage.
PHILOSOPHY: Many look for happiness in the wrong places. Others have the disposition to find it in the simplicity of daily life. If we are able to harmonize worldly needs with spiritual wholeness, then we can reach ultimate creativity allowing ourselves the pleasure of becoming human.
